That does what? And other mechanical questions I have.

What does that do?
I am not what you would think of as a typical female. I don't know what the latest fashion world is saying. I don't really care to keep up with who is dating who and who has just parted ways in Hollywood. Makeup..tried it and really why? So it would lead some to believe that I am mechanically inclined and picture me standing on the bumper of a car with a wrench in one hand and a newly removed car part in the other. After all, that would be a reasonable assumption, especially seeing that I work in an auto repair shop. The truth is..I know nothing. Well that's not entirely true. I know how to put gas in my car. I know how to drive my car. I have even been known to on occasion tentatively check my own oil. I thought that it would be a learning experience to work here, possibly have the techs show me what they are doing and in my mind, within months I would be elbow deep in grease and oil. That is so not the case. After working here for over a year..here is what I know. See the above knowledge. Yeah, that is truly all. That's not to say that the techs haven't tried. Oh they have. They have an abundance of patience when I ask questions. Although, they always seem to sigh quietly under their breath, roll their eyes just a bit and push forward with their explanation. It's as if they just know that five minutes after walking away, I won't remember a word of what they have told me. History does in fact repeat itself. So I thought, what am I going to do about this? I know for a fact that I will never be able to rebuild an engine, or install a transmission. I would, however; like to be able to say that I know something about anything. So, I have decided that each day I am going to ask a question about a certain part of a car, take notes and then blog about it. Writing about it, should help me retain at least partial information and who knows, maybe we can all learn together. So tomorrow I will force myself to be interested, engaged and enthused about learning how a radiator works. Stay tuned folks, this is going to be a bumpy ride. Speaking of which..why is my car vibrating?
